Plant Care on Plastic Mulch Beds

With our Runner cutter, you can remove unwanted runners from strawberry ridges—more gently on the plastic mulch than ever before—before they take root. This specialized machine can be used on virtually all ridge shapes, whether they have 1, 2, or more rows of plants per ridge. Each ridge is assigned a chassis with 2 to 4 cutting elements. Each cutting element—featuring a rubber finger rotor, saw blade, and brush—is guided individually along the ridge. The rubber fingers scan the ridge surface, lift the runners together with the brush, and guide them to the Remover.

Rubber finger and saw blade

The rubber fingers lift the runners and guide them toward the saw blade. The spring-loaded cutting element rests on the rubber fingers, ensuring that the tools lifting the runners remain in constant contact with the film without piercing it.
