chaff spreader
For spreading chaff (coffee husks), small grains, and short straw across the entire cutting width of the combine harvesterAvoid concentrated application of chaff, stunted grains, and short straw on the stubble field and benefit from optimal distribution with the chaff spreader.
No strip formation due to the germination of undersized grains and the accumulation of weed seeds. No layers of chaff and short straw that decompose poorly during soil tillage. With the wide spreading provided by the Heuling chaff spreader across the combine’s cutting width, these problems are a thing of the past. Quick installation is possible on almost all common combine models with just a few attachment parts. We’re happy to deliver this specialized machine in the same color as your combine.
How It Works
The chaff spreader is positioned immediately behind the cleaning screens. The heavier chaff particles coming from the sieve box fall into the lower section of the rotor housing. The lighter chaff particles are carried by the airflow into the upper section, where they are “combed out” of the airflow by the rotor blades. Both light and heavy chaff particles are distributed together across the entire cutting width. The airflow can escape through the openings in the housing. This prevents air backflow and, consequently, any negative impact on the cleaning performance and overall efficiency of your combine harvester.

Optimal Working Position
The distance, height, and angle relative to the sieve box can be easily adjusted using the swivel bracket. The versatile adjustment options ensure the optimal working position immediately behind the sieve box of your combine harvester. The discharge distance can be adjusted separately to the optimal working width by rotating the individual rotor housings on the left and right.
Screen Accessibility Through Innovative Solutions
To check for sieve loss or adjust the sieve, the chaff spreader is swung under the shakers in just a few simple steps using a swivel aid. This creates a vast working space, allowing for smooth sieve removal on nearly all types of combine harvesters. To swing the chaff spreader, it must be disconnected from the drive, the drive shaft must be unlocked, and the chaff spreader must be slid in. This allows the unit to be easily swung into the combine’s straw hood.
